Kathy Drnec, has been dancing and performing for over 37 years, during which time she has had extensive training from many different dance masters and many performing opportunities. Kathy has danced professionally with the Y108 Team, the Denver Nugget Dance Team, and the Jazzin’ Dance Ensemble located in Utah. She has participated in many master dance classes, workshops and conventions with master artists such as Kim Lanham, who appeared in the movie, A Chorus Line, Joe Tremaine, Garth Paey, Gus Giordano, Luiji, Charles Kelly, Ken Disken, Buster Cooper, Jackie Sleight, Barry Lather, Marcea Lane, and Tony Coppola.

Kathy attended the Colorado Dance Festival for several years during which she studied with great tap masters including Steve Condos (The Condos Brothers), Charles “Honi” Coles, Eddie Brown, La Vaughn Robinson, Check Green, Arthur Duncan, Brenda Buffalino and Jimmy Slyde. She also took intensives from Gregory Hines, Bunny Briggs, Henry Le Tang, Jason Samuel-smith, and the original Tap Dogs.

Kathy has received many dance awards including: Gold Cup Awards for20seven consecutive from the New Jersey Federation for superior dance ratings; National Royal Miss America Talent, National Miss North America Talent, National Entertainer of the Year, Miss Colorado Talent, Royale Miss Colorado Talent and Mrs. Colorado Talent and Swimwear State winner.

Kathy appeared on radio and television including a radio commercial for North American Youth Festival, a radio talk show on competitions, a dance spot on channel 31 TV commercial, guest appearance on Channel 4’s “All Night Live” and was interviewed on “Owning a Dance Studio” and “Competition for Children” on Mile High Cable Vision’s special The Competitive Edge. She has danced for many benefits and organizations throughout the U.S. and has also had training in voice, theatre, and modeling. For over 14 years, Kathy has been involved in instructing and choreographing for after school programs with the Creative Expressions Organization.

While having owned her own studio for 19 years, Kathy had the privilege of training over hundreds of dancers, many that have taken State and National honors and Scholarships including Critics Choice Awards. Some of these dancers are now dancing professionally with the Miami City Ballet, Carnival Cruise Lines, Dragontales Live, and The Rockettes. Kathy’s most gratifying and rewarding experiences have been when she sees the students she teaches perform and accomplish their goals and dreams.
